Overview

This park, created on the grounds of Koriyama Castle’s outer moat, is a recreation and relaxation spot of locals. It is said that the earthen walls of the moat which used to be covered in pine and thickets had created a grand view. However, it has not maintained its former appearance and what remains now is a reservoir. The area from Jonenjiura-bori Moat (new North Gate) to Tosenjiura-bori Moat (new South Gate) was made to become the Sotobori Ryokuchi Parl. The South Gate, “Korai-mon Gate” and North Gate, “Kanki-mon Gate” is a replicate of Koriyama Castle’s Yanagi-daimon Gate. A flea market is held here every 2nd Sunday of the month.
